Paul Sawin, MD is a board-certified neurosurgeon in Orlando. Dr. Sawin earned his medical degree from the University of Iowa College of Medicine. He stayed there to complete his medical residency. Dr. Sawin completed his formal medical training with a fellowship at Barrow Neurological Institute. His special interests include complex spinal reconstruction, brain and spinal cord tumors, craniovertebral junction abnormalities, and minimally-invasive spinal surgery.

Dr. Sawin is a published author with over 50 articles in peer-reviewed journals and neurosurgical textbooks. As an established member of the medical community, Dr. Sawin devotes part of his time to teaching at national and international training courses, helping other neurosurgeons learn state-of-the-art spinal surgery techniques. An award-winning surgeon, Dr. Sawin has received the AANS/CNS Mayfield Award and the Eugene I. Nordby Award, given for outstanding research in the field of spinal surgery. He is a member of the American Association of Neurological Surgeons, the Congress of Neurological Surgeons, and the North American Spine Society.
