Francisco Socola, MD, is board certified in medical oncology and hematology. After receiving his medical degree from the Cayetano Heredia University in Lima, Peru, Dr. Socola, went on to complete an internal medicine residency at the University of Miami/Jackson Memorial Hospital, followed by a hematology/oncology fellowship at the University of Arkansas for Medical Science. Dr. Socola completed a sub-fellowship in bone marrow transplant and cellular therapy (CAR T cell) at Stanford University. After completing his training, he worked for four years at Tulane University in the department of Malignant Hematology and Bone Marrow Transplant.

His research interests include finding new ways to reduce the relapse rate of Acute Myeloid Leukemia and Myelodysplastic Syndrome before and after Allogeneic Stem Cell Transplant. Dr. Socola has a vast experience enrolling patients in clinical trials (experimental drugs) and has published multiple papers. He is fluent in both English and Spanish.
